Michael Haddow - 03/15/2012 I've waited my sweet time to write this review since I ordered it in October. Before I go into detail about the laptop I'll first just tell you it's big. My friends call it the tank that's how big it is. But I'm perfectly fine with the size, it just means I have to have a bigger laptop bag. It's beautiful though, I've been to classes, meetings, and other events where people have commented on it.
Pros:
Pretty keyboard that is functional. ( I actually like the keys unlike some reviews that whine about them)
Matte screen is beautiful
Battery Life when turned on power saver still lasts over 3 hours (my last inspiron's battery lasted me 5months)
It's quick just like any computer of it's caliber
I have the 2630qm since I have the earlier model and it's still fast enough to run any game
The fan is incredible! I can push my gpu without any fear of overheating and score benchmarks near my friend's scores who has a AMD 6990m
Plenty of ram and harddrive which are both upgradable
Sound is comparable to the top tier sager laptop and can get quite loud
Buy XOTIC PC this is my first laptop I've bought from them and they were fantastic (btw whoever it was that answered my Customer Service call has a hot voice)
I got Dirt 3 for free
I haven't had a problem running any game yet! I can run metro 2033 on almost max settings and still get around 30 fps
gtx 570m is one of the better graphics card on the markets today for laptops
Cons:
Not a gtx 580m gpu or a AMD 6990m
weight
stupid bloatware that is just obnoxious
I've never dealt with MSI CS but i've heard that they're terrible
With those out of the way I would like to add that if you are a person who is going for just tech specs go with the a 15 inch Sager that has the 6990m. My friend spent just under 2 grand on his and he loves it. If I had the opportunity to trade laptops with him I wouldn't do it. Yes his is just a tad faster but the bigger screen along with the keyboard is worth the sacrifice. So if you're looking for a larger laptop that can run any game and isn't going to rape your wallet like the Alienware equivalent look no further. |
