Adam Hainstock - 05/15/2009 I bought the NP2096 just a few weeks ago. I must say I am overly impressed. For open source enthusiasts, this is a dream. Wireless works straight out of the box with Ubuntu, as well as Windows 7. Drivers are straight forward to install, and handles all tasks with ease. I am running at this moment a 64 bit copy of Ubuntu dual booted with Windows 7, also 64 bit. Games are no problem for it, and with the Nvidia/4Gb Ram/2.66Ghz processor it's not to be laughed at. For the power in it, it's fairly light, merely 7lbs. I only have one complaint that is so minor it doesn't matter. This is that when you power on you PC it takes approx. 5-10 seconds before it actuallly takes you to the Sager logo, then starts booting. After that it boots just as quickly as my old craptop. Would I recommend it? Yes. For only 1550 Canadian it's a steal, compared to a lesser quality 2200 CDN pc from Alienware. And I must say the service is fantastic. Thank you Xotic. I will buy from you again. |
eric tuong - 12/23/2008 I had no clue what to expect from a Sager Notebook, but I'm convinced it's high point is it's warranty, customer service and quality of build. The games i ran were CS, Left 4 Dead, they ran great along side the 1680x1080 screen. This is perfect for anyone. The only gripes were the Fn and Ctrl buttons are switched, and the back of the screen's durability, it's scratched easily and feels like a weaker outer shell. Anyways the reason i mentioned warranty is because after i had a taste of high performance i wanted more and you will too. Save the hassle and switch to the 9262 as i did. |
Simranjit Singh - 08/16/2008 I had no clue what to expect from a Sager Notebook, but I'm glad i ordered one b/c for the price this thing is a beast. It's fast, responsive, and reliable. The Wifi is great, the fingerprint scanner runs surprisingly well and the system itself runs very quietly and cool. It runs games like counterstrike source with over 100 fps, and can run Crysis on medium and a few high settings. Also, i wanted to point out that if you try to run a game on the power saving settings, your games will run terribly, EVEN when the the power cord is connected!!!! so make sure you changed the settings to either balance or high proformance even when you have the power cord inserted for optimal gaming proformance. The only thing i disliked about the laptop is that it's keyboard lack some multimedia keys and the arrow keys on the side are way too small for me. Also there is no locking mechanism b/w the screen and and laptop itself. Also if you plan on buying this system make sure you upgrade the harddrive, for obvious reasons, and get the higher res screen, you'll thank me this. So in the end, this is a great system to buy, espically if you have a tight budget like mine for college and stuff. :) |
